The Dark Light Theatre was my first theatre project and i had a lot of fun working on it finding out the 'inns' and 'outs' of theatre. I feel that the most crucial part of this project was the separation of front of house and behind stage aspects of the design. I also liked the outcome of the exterior design with the cantilevered floor slabs, My only wish is that I could have had more nature to work with.
This project was a strange one for me design-wise because I could not see the outcome of the design until I was nearing the end. That being said a lot of work went into designing the Observatory, most of it 3-D modelling. This was one of those rare time that I had the model complete before the plan, With that being said I guess the function of this building followed the form which is weird for my design style usually its vice-versa. I have to say though i am satisfied with the outcome.
The apartment complex was my attempt at what I would call family friendly housing. I took so much care with the layout of the floor plan, making sure that everyone had their own space that was not intruded on by another's space. I tried to employ as much greenery as I could on this project from the greenery on the ground floor to the roof top gardens. This is a building where the form followed the function as I spent a lot of time thinking about how every single space functioned.
